happy young girls, tourists walking on streets in city tour, Santo Domingo

At some point or another, most of us travel lovers will team up with our friends and plan a big group trip. The thing about group travel is that although is can be amazing and you can have the best time ever, there’s two sides to it. You may not realise it right now, but traveling with friends can be somewhat stressful. Especially if you plan on being away for longer than a couple of weeks.

The good news is that to make traveling with friends easier, there are a few simple things that you can do. As well as some things that it’s most probably best to avoid doing. To outline these for you, below I’ve shared the good, the bad and the ugly of travelling with your buddies. Take this on board and you can ensure that you have the most amazing time away, seeing the world with your closest friends.

The good:

Let’s start with the good. The great thing about traveling with friends is that it can be a lot of fun. There’s also the fact that you’ve got people to look out for you which will make your trip that little bit safer. Traveling with your closest friends also comes with the added bonus of it being cheaper. As often, accomodation isn’t priced per person but per room. So having someone to share with makes it more affordable. Then there’s the fact that you can make some amazing memories – things that will last a lifetime.

The bad:

The downside to traveling with friends is that you’ll probably be spending a lot of time together. This means that you may start to get a little snappy with each other – when you live in close proximity to others this is normal. You may end up squabbling about where you go and what you see – especially if you both have different personalities. The good news is that you can prevent these types of arguments by opting to go on an escorted group tour, so that your entire trip is planned out for you. Does this sound appealing? Yes – you can find out more about group travel here.

The ugly:

The very worst thing that could happen is that you fall out with your friends. However, if you make a pact to tell each other when you’re getting stressed out, this can be prevented. Although spending so much time together can lead to squabbling, it doesn’t have to. The truth is, group travel can bring you and your friends much closer together. It can also allow you to meet and get to know new people – something that’s incredibly easy if you opt to travel as part of a tour.

Overall, group travel can be a fantastic way to get out there and see the world. You and your friends may have a couple of minor arguments if you spend too much time together, but you can still have the most fantastic time away. You’ll see some amazing sights, meet lots of new people, and make memories that will last forever.
