liverpool-fireworks Well who would have thought we were nearing the end of 2016. A year that has been packed with special events for me. Along with celebrating my 30th birthday and my daughter 1st I also attended my mums wedding to the love of her life in September.

Even though the weather is not to my liking in the latter months of the year the seasonal events that take place are definitely my favourite.

From Halloween to New Year’s Eve, the final portion of the year has it all. It’s in Liverpool city centre that you’ll find the greatest way to enjoy these spectacular parts of the year and here’s my guide on how to make the most of them.

Halloween

Without a doubt my all-time favourite seasonal holiday is Halloween. Mainly because I love to partake in a bit of fancy dress up, but also because the city of Liverpool comes alive with spooks and spectres of all varieties.

Sure to offer up a great night is Circo on Albert Dock. This year around circus cabaret extravaganza always promises nights of entertaining acts. The high flying aerial trapeze artists and malevolent freaky clowns provide entertainment that is perfectly suited to any Halloween get together.

Enjoy the show whilst dining or just simply enjoying drinks at this year’s CarnEvil an event guaranteed to spook and amaze.

Bonfire Night

Who doesn’t love a great fireworks show? There’s no city I know that does it better than Liverpool on Guy Fawkes night. The river Mersey is where the magic happens and this year’s show is entitled The River of Light. Visitors to this amazing yearly event have enjoyed fabulous displays of pyrotechnical majesty as the skies above the Three Graces are illuminated with colour.

Watch this amazing display on the banks of the Mersey or better still grab your seat on any of the water front Liverpool bar’s rooftop terraces and bring yourself closer to the magic.

Christmas Markets

As somebody who has seen her fair share of Christmas markets Liverpool’s have stolen the show year in year out. Take a walk through the street of Liverpool during the elad up to Christmas and treat your senses to the smells, sights and sounds of festivity.

Make your way through the log cabin style stalls selling goods from sweets to homemade soaps.

Need some quirky one of a kind Christmas decorations then look no further than Liverpool’s buzzing Christmas markets.

When your fingers are frosty and need warming up head to one of the many pop up street bars and enjoy a hot mulled wine or warm spicy cider.

If the mood should take you then don your ice skates and take a spin around Liverpool One’s pop up ice rink. Part of the Winter Wonderland that comes to the shopping centre every year.

New Year’s Eve

A special occasion that needs only you and your love ones to make it memorable. Why not bring everybody together at a New Year’s Eve celebration in one of the Liverpool restaurants or bars this year.

Another amazing fireworks display will be held on the water front along with plenty of others set off at midnight.

Bring in the New Year together in a city that promises a most memorable send-off to 2016.

There you have it, a guide from now to the end your 2016 in Liverpool. Whether you attend just one or all of the above events a visit to Liverpool will guarantee you enjoy the best bits of 2016 in style.
