As you know, we were in the USA in 2015. We got to see a lot of cool things and eat a lot of great food, but there is so much on offer, that it would be easy to fill another trip. Read on for our top ten recommendations of what not to miss in the US of A.
Having been to Vegas I can only say, wow, it is a crazy city. The Vegas strip is the central hub of all the entertainments. Although the old town has recently been done up, so it is worth a visit to the Golden Nugget casino there too.
The strip itself is lined with huge themed hotels, so much so that it make you feel like you’re in Disneyland. There is a castle in the form of the Camelot Hotel; The Luxor is A pyramid, and Circus Circus has… that’s right you guessed it a circus and amusement park.
There is so much to do in Vegas apart from gambling and drinking. There are plenty of nice diners offering supersized pastrami sandwiches and macaroni salads. Then there are the all- you-can-eat buffets full of every delicacy you could think of including succulent snow crab.
San Francisco is another place that you would be crazy to miss. Visit the eerie old prison island of Alcatraz. Take a winding ride down Lombard Street and gaze at the beautiful architecture of the Golden Gate bridge.
Then visit the award winning Aubergine for a delicious meal. There are just too many iconic places in San Francisco to miss it off your trip list.
Like Vegas and San Francisco, we have also visited New Orleans. Try the excellent Peche restaurant for a slap up meal that is delicious and refreshing. It’s also a good idea to line your stomach before heading out to take in some the famous New Orleans party scene. If you visit in March, don’t forget that is Mardi Gras season so expect it to be even livelier than usual.
Ok, so Canada is not in the USA, but it is very close. If you find yourself in America, it’s worthwhile taking a flight up to Canada to explore all that it has to offer. You could visit the city of Toronto or Whistler resort up in the mountains. I hear that Maenam restaurant in Vancouver is splendid too. If you are lucky enough to find yourself there in the winter, make sure you visit the Yukon. As you will have the best chance of seeing the lights (Aurora Borealis) then
Another Place that is pretty popular in the US is Orlando. This is due in large part to the glut of theme parks here. There is lots to do and see including Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure, Epcot, disney’s animal kingdom and seaworld. There are ase some pretty interested restaurants that look good like Enzo’s on the lake and the Jazz Brunch at The Boheme.
